Full Tilt Poker is facing legal troubles with the Department of Justice in the United
States regarding the illegal gambling activities and transactions, but that is only
the start of things. Many players are disgusted with the online poker room because
they’ve failed to reimburse players for the money that was lost during the seizure.

Now it seems that a lawsuit filed by Connie Gowen in 2008 against Full Tilt Poker
and its parent company, Tiltware, was wrongly dismissed by the court in 2010.
Gowen alleges that she was promised a 1% ownership in the company as an
incentive to become a member of the Full Tilt Poker team in 2004. In 2007,
Gowen refused a payment of $250,000 from Tiltware which claimed that the
amount was her 1% share. She was then fired from the Full Tilt Poker team
for refusing the payment, which she felt wasn’t even close to 1% of the profit.
Gowen’s lawsuit is now claiming damages of $40 million for breach of contract
by a poker company that she believes is worth in excess of over $4 billion.

The Morongo Band of Indians continue to fight for legal online poker in California and they’ve joined 21 tribes in order to claim the exclusive rights to online poker within state borders. The Morongo Band wants legal online poker in California, but they are against any federal
legislation that would make online gambling legal within the United States.

Legislation to make online poker legal in California is no longer a top priority for government officials. The Indian tribes want to make it legal to play poker online in California, so that they can hold the exclusive rights to offer online poker to California residents. If the federal government passes legislation to legalize online gambling, then the California tribes will be forced to compete with license holders throughout the country, and they really don’t want any outside competition.

It doesn’t look like the Morongo Band will be given exclusive rights to offer online poker in California. It’s more likely that the US government will pass legislation to legalize online poker.
