As of this moment, land-based casinos and online casinos are illegal in Ireland
under the the 1956 Gaming and Lottery Act which is over 55 years old and clearly
outdated. Their has always been a loophole in the law that allows private clubs

Spain has liberalised its gambling laws, after first attempting to restrict operators. They’ve
finally caved in to the pressure of the European Union and decided to free up the market. Just
recently, Spain approved its first online casino license for the largest land-based casino
operator in the country. This is the beginning of a new era of gambling within Spain.

The gaming license was acquired on May 17th and it will give the new operator an opportunity
to offer a number of popular casino games to Spanish players. The new online casino will
also host a poker application that will enable residents of Madrid to play against each other.

It is expected that this law will go into effect later this summer, and the new operator
will immediately open the first online casino in Spain. The online casino is in the testing
