Saudi Arabia is a middle eastern country with strict laws when it comes to the gambling industry. The country is mostly made up of Muslims and its dominated and governed by the laws of Islam. Gambling is forbidden in the Islamic religion, and that is why all forms of gambling are prohibited.

People in Saudi Arabia that believe in a different religion are only able to gamble if they visit
a casino outside of the country, or if they play at an offshore casino over the Internet. The
government doesn’t want its citizens to be gambling online, and they’ve gone so far as to filter
the Internet by blocking access to web sites that they find to be offensive for Saudi citizens.

While some Saudi Arabians gamble at the online casinos, their are others that choose to travel
abroad to play their favorite casino games. Recently, their was news that the president of
a consulting company in Saudi Arabia had borrowed over $10 million in order to place bets
at a land-based casino in one of the neighboring countries that offers legal casino gambling.
