Sending In The Clowns Against Online Gambling

The anti-gambling crusaders sent in the clowns to Washington DC recently for the hearing on the new bill to regulate the online gambling industry. Most of the politicians at the hearing were in favor of sending the legislation to the full House of Representatives for a vote, but their were clowns in the room that pointed out the same old tired reasons of why online gambling shouldn’t be legal within the United States. Americans have heard these excuses so many times over the past few years, and they didn’t seem to convince any of the politicians at the hearing.

Their were attempts to attach amendments to the bill that would put pressure on the online casinos to investigate deadbeat dads, file all of their tax returns, and even an amendment to help the Las Vegas casinos into the industry while making it harder for some of the offshore operators to acquire a gaming license. Some of these amendments would do nothing but hurt the chances of this online gambling legislation making it through Congress and onto the President’s desk.
