Ontario Set To Legalize Online Casinos & Poker Rooms

Canada is working towards legalized online gambling by giving the provinces the ability
to choose whether or not to legalize the activity and allow state government to regulate it.

Just recently, Quebec took the first step towards a regulated online casino & poker industry. It
seems that the thought of how much Quebec will gain by legalizing online gambling was just too
much for the provincial government of Ontario. Dalton McGuinty, the Ontario Premier, has already
hinted that his government may be changing their laws to legalize online casino gambling.

The Ontario government has realized that their is no stopping the online gambling industry. With
other provinces moving toward legalization, it would only seem appropriate that they legalize
the activity as well. The concensus is that the laws need to be changed to support online
gambling and the province needs to be competitive in the online gambling field in order to
keep residents gambling at state-owned gambling sites and not sending their money offshore.
