Online Gambling In Denmark

Ladbrokes, the UK based wagering company recently announced that it will be moving its online gambling operations to Gibraltar but they have indicated that they are prepared to submit to government regulations if Denmark decides to regulate online gambling.



Denmark has recently drafted a new regulatory set of rules after years under a gambling monopoly, but speculation is that if they do regulate online gambling, it will be expensive to acquire a license, and not very competitive. Their has been discussion of a 15% or 20% tax on gambling within the country, and that would most certainly make gambling operators think twice about relocating to Denmark.



Their is also speculation that the Danish government may want to keep the lottery and bingo under the government monopoly, and online gambling operators would be barred from offering these games. This would definately cause a concern for
Ladbrokes as well as many other gambling operators that offer these games.
