When US Online Casinos Are Legal

When online casinos are legal within the United States, it should be expected
that the only major change will be that Americans can legally gamble at online
casinos that already have land-based operations somewhere within the U.S.

Over the past 20 years or so, the U.S. has been moving jobs overseas to
foreign workers that corporations can pay less. Americans have been forced
to buy products from U.S. companies that hire their workers in a foreign land.

The government has been moving jobs overseas, but the exact opposite has taken
place when it comes to online gambling. The U.S. government is attempting to
protect the gambling market within the United States from any outsiders. The
principle reason for this stance is that the government receives tax dollars
from the legal gambling within the United States, and nothing from gambling
that takes place at an online casino within an offshore jurisdiction.

It should be expected that if the U.S. Congress passes legislation to legalize
online casinos within its borders, that the offshore operators will be in the
same position as they are now. U.S. land-based casinos will hold licenses to
operate online casinos and accept U.S. bets while foreign operators will
not be granted a license, and therefore unable to legally accept U.S. bets.

Offshore online casinos can accept bets from U.S. players now at their own
risk, and without a license in the future, they will continue to be at risk.
Their is a possibility that the U.S. government will grant licenses to
some offshore casino operators when legislation is passed, but if they
follow down the same road as they have for the past 8 years, it will
be nothing new for offshore online casino operators in the U.S. market.
