Online Casinos in Las Vegas

When online casinos are legal within the United States, Las Vegas will be quick to compete with the offshore operators. Some say that Las Vegas will eventually take over the market, but if they expect that to come easy for them, they are mistaken.

The offshore online casino operators have years of experience in the online gaming world and they know what works for online players and what doesn’t. The offshore operators will have less licensing fees and alot less taxes to pay than U.S. based casino operators, as well as brand recognition from years of accepting bets online.

The Las Vegas casinos will only have brand recognition from players that are familiar with their establishments. They do have the benefit when it comes to lists of casino and hotel patrons that they can solicit by mail or e-mail to visit their online casinos.

If the Las Vegas casinos really want to compete with their offshore competitors, they will need to put alot of money into the market and begin offering a bit of the Las Vegas experience to players at home. They need to offer live events that players can watch live on their computer while playing at the online casino. More importantly, they will need to bring the full Las Vegas experience to players that are sitting at home on their computer. Launching an online casino with a full suite of games and a new player bonus isn’t going to be enough to take over an already thriving market.

It will be interesting to see what Las Vegas does when they enter the online
casino market, but some of the Las Vegas casinos have opened online
casinos outside of the U.S. market in the past, and they failed miserably.
