Online Casino Giants Develop French Poker Partnership

Microgaming and 888 Holdings, two online casino giants and fierce competitors, have agreed to partner up to launch an online poker network that will only be for players within France.

“This deal marks a turning point in the industry with big networks collaborating in newly regulated markets to create a shared pool of liquidity, benefiting customers and assisting in rapidly generating large poker networks in each market,” said Gigi Levy, CEO of 888.

Both of these casino giants have entered into the process of applying for a French gaming license and they’ve decide to partner up to deal with the complexities of the French gaming market. It is unlikely that this partnership would have taken place if the French government had less licensing requirements and regulations for gambling operators. This partnership may work well for French players because they will be able to play against thousands of new players at one poker room.
