New Device Helps Problem Gambling Online

TechLink, a Canadian gaming company has developed a new device that may help victims of problem gambling to control their gambling urges. This device is currently being developed for land-based casinos but it is expected that a similiar device will be developed for online casinos.

The gambling device tracks the wagers and results of the player and gives them choices to keep the gaming experience from getting out of hand. It gives a running picture of the player’s money management and alerts the player when their betting patterns change drastically. The player can set limits on their gambling with this device. They can program the machine to limit the losses or even lock them out of the casino games permanently or on certain days or at certain times.

In order for this device to be used, the land-based casinos or online casinos need to be setup to
interact with the device via a port at the slot machine or via a port on the player’s computer.
If this new device proves to be effective in helping problem gamblers, then it may become the
universal device used by all gambling establishments in order to keep gambling fun and relaxing.
