Legal Online Casinos for Estonia in 2010

Legislation has been passed within the country of Estonia that will make online casinos legal within the country as of January 1st, 2010. The new Estonia Gambling Act recognizes the licenses of online gaming operators in other EU countries but not within any other continent.



All foreign operators will be required to pay a hefty fee and apply for a license to operate in Estonia. They will accept casinos that are licensed elsewhere, and their is a provision in the Estonia Gambling Act that allows sub-contracting between the licensed state operators and the foreign online casinos.



Much like other online gaming jurisdictions, anyone that applies for a license within Estonia must be properly incorporated, well funded, and submit to a background check. The downside of the legislation is that ISPs will be required to block access to any online casino that is operating illegally or offering gambling services to Estonians without a proper license or a sub-contract with a state gaming operator.
