Hawaii Says No To Legal Online Gambling

It was reported earlier in the week that Hawaii seemed to be on their way
to legalizing gambling within the state. They had considered legalizing
gambling in order to recover lost revenue that the state desperately needs.

Unfortunately, the gambling bill has been shot down by lawmakers. All forms
of gambling will continue to remain illegal within the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaii
will continue to be one of two states without any form of legalized gambling.
The other state that has excluded all forms of gambling is the state of Alaska.

Anti-gambling organizations, social organizations, religious groups, and law
enforcement spoke out against the gambling legislation. Unfortunately, the
politicians were influenced by the testimony of these groups. One other
concern was that Hawaii is a popular family destination that is regarded
for it’s natural beauty and gambling would take away the family aspect.

It was estimated that legal gambling could have resulted in over $500 million
in revenue and numerous jobs for residents of Hawaii. This doesn’t include
the revenue that could have been generated by legal online casino gambling.
