legislators in Hawaii are pushing for legalized gambling. Hawaii has always been one of those
tourist destinations that has always been against gambling of any kind, but due to the financial
crisis and a decline in tourist dollars, they are looking for new ways to boost their tax revenue.
With a billion dollar budget gap, Hawaiians are finally looking to gambling to help with the budget.

Legislators are pushing for legalized slots on some of the native Hawaiian islands with the primary focus being on the island of Waikiki. The opposition is fierce with many worried that Hawaii is known as a family friendly destination and this may hurts its image with tourists. Others are concerned that gambling may lead to an increase in crime or addiction for native Hawaiians.
