Cryptologic Online Casinos Impacted by Marvel-Disney Deal

One of the biggest draws for Cryptologic online casinos are the video slot machines that feature Spiderman, the X-Men, the Daredevil, and other Marvel Comic Book characters. The announcement yesterday that Disney has acquired Marvel Entertainment for roughly $4 billion has players scratching their heads and wondering if this deal will affect Cryptologic and the Marvel brand of video slot games.



Cryptologic and Marvel Entertainment have a contract that will keep the superhero video slot games at the casinos for the next couple of years, but its unclear what will happen after the contract ends. Disney has a reputation for being a family company with the children’s cartoons, the amusement parks, cartoon movies, etc. and online gambling may not be something that they want to associate with.



Disney does offer adult content such as R-Rated films but they choose to package these things under company names that people would not associate with Disney. Unfortunately, Disney may be interested in using the superhero characters as part of their theme parks, the same way that they use Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. If this happens, you can almost bet that they will no longer allow the superheroes
to be used in the online gambling industry once the existing contracts expire.



Players are hopeful that the Marvel superhero slots will remain, but their are rumors of new video slots featuring other superheroes being released in the near future.
