The tragic situation in the Gulf of Mexico is getting worse by the day and its getting much more expensive for BP. The US government is demanding that BP set aside billions of dollars to service potential claims that will be made against them. This environmental nightmare could result in BP filing for bankruptcy due to the heavy financial burden it may soon cause for the company.

The bookmakers are already offering betting odds for this natural disaster. The betting odds for Tony Hayward to step down as CEO of BP is now 8-11. Their was a bet placed at one of the top sportsbooks for £10,000 that he would stay with BP, and make it through this very difficult time.
