Backwards Approach To Legal Online Gambling

backwards online gambling

While countries begin to legalise online gambling, many of the governments are taking the wrong approach. France and Italy have already regulated the online gambling industry but they have issued strict requirements for operators to acquire a license and begin accepting players.

Online casinos will not be able to acquire licenses and meet the requirements of all countries in order to offer their gambling services to people throughout the world. At the same time, these governments that legalise online gambling will not be able to stop their citizens from gambling at online casinos that aren’t licensed and regulated by their own country.

In the end, the governments will lose out on revenue from citizens that want to gamble at online casinos that either can’t acquire a license in their country or have already acquired licenses in so many countries that they don’t have the capital to expand to any others. Governments have no real strategy on how they will stop players from gambling at unlicensed online casinos.

The only countries that win are those that continue to license online casinos to bring in jobs for their citizens without a heavy tax or strict requirements for a casino license. These countries will continue to flourish and the casino operators will be able to market their gambling services to people in countries throughout the world without concern for individual country requirements.
