2010 may be the year that US citizens gain the legal right to gamble over the Internet. With numerous politicians coming on-board to support the regulation of online gambling within the United States, the anti-gambling clowns continue to spread the same old spin and negative comments about the industry. These clowns continue to belt out to their dwindling audience that children are gambling over the Internet. While their is little evidence that this is happening, it would be the responsibility of the parents to monitor the habits of their own children. If your going to ban activities that children participate in illegally, then why not ban alcohol, and porn.
Another incredible accusation is that online gambling has resulted in a huge increase in problem gamblers. Recent studies have concluded that online gambling doesn’t seem to pose any more of a threat to compulsive gambling than the the land-based gambling industry. It has also been said that Internet poker is the crack cocaine of gambling, and we should protect Americans from this addiction. US citizens should have the right to entertain themselves however they see fit. Close down the poker rooms in Las Vegas first, and then lecture people about how online poker is bad.
While these clowns are often amusing, the American people are getting tired of watching the same old circus tricks. They want something new, something believable, and not the same old political spin that they’ve heard a million times from clowns that they still don’t believe.
